Pure Matrimony® Code of Conduct

Introduction

Pure Matrimony® was founded with the belief that practice makes perfect, that by striving to practice our faith with sincerity, Allah ﷻ will bless us with goodness in every part of our lives, including marriage. This Code of Conduct ensures that Pure Matrimony® remains a safe, respectful, and faith-centred space for all members. By joining, you agree to follow these values so we can help everyone find their halal partner with peace of mind.
Marriage in Islam is not simply a social contract; it is an act of worship and a means of completing half of one’s faith.
📖 Allah ﷻ says:“Good women are for good men, and good men are for good women.”(Surah An-Nur 24:26)
This guiding principle reminds us that marriage is built on purity, good character, and sincere intentions.
📖 The Prophet ﷺ said:“The most perfect of believers in faith are those with the best character. And the best of you are those who are best to their women.”(Tirmidhi, 1162)
With this in mind, every member of Pure Matrimony® is expected to uphold the highest standards of Islamic conduct, honesty, and respect — both in public and private interactions.

1. Membership & Registration

1.1 Genuine Purpose
1.1.1 Membership on Pure Matrimony® is strictly for genuine Islamic marriage purposes (Nikah).
1.1.2 Registration for casual friendships or temporary arrangements without Shariah compliance is not allowed.
1.1.3 Matchmakers or third-party representatives are prohibited.
1.1.4 Misuse of the platform for non-marital purposes may result in account suspension or permanent ban.
1.1.5 Fake, joke, or non-serious registrations are strictly prohibited.
📖 Allah ﷻ says:“And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight, and the heart — about all those [one] will be questioned.”(Surah Al-Isra 17:36)

2. Respectful Communication

2.1 General Conduct
2.1.1 All members must conduct themselves with courtesy and politeness.
2.1.2 The use of offensive, rude, or vulgar language is strictly prohibited.
2.1.3 Harassment of any kind — verbal, emotional, or sexual — will not be tolerated.
2.1.4 Members must communicate with patience and avoid rushing or pressuring others.
📖 The Prophet ﷺ said:“A true Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hands the people are safe.”(Bukhari & Muslim)
2.2 Staff Interactions
2.2.1 Staff members must be treated with respect.
2.2.2 Abusive behaviour towards Pure Matrimony® staff may result in permanent ban.
2.3 Information Sharing
2.3.1 Members must not share contact details or personal information (email, phone number, social media) in profiles or chat messages.
2.3.2 Such details can only be shared at the appropriate stage, after compatibility has been confirmed.

3. Privacy & Confidentiality

3.1 Personal Information
3.1.1 Members must not disclose their own or others’ personal information prematurely.
3.1.2 Any sharing of personal data requires explicit consent.
3.2 Confidentiality
3.2.1 All conversations, including those supervised by Wali, are strictly confidential.
3.2.2 Sharing screenshots, recordings, or personal details without permission is not permitted.
📖 Allah ﷻ says:“Do not spy, nor backbite one another...”(Surah Al-Hujurat 49:12)

4. Profile Accuracy & Integrity

4.1 Truthful Representation
4.1.1 All information provided must be truthful, complete, and accurate.
4.1.2 Real photos and correct details (name, age, location, marital status, religion) are mandatory.
4.2 Prohibited Content
4.2.1 Excessive filters, misleading images, or actor/model photos are prohibited.
4.2.2 Fake or misleading profiles will result in suspension.
📖 The Prophet ﷺ said:“Whoever deceives us is not one of us.”(Muslim, 101)

5. Purpose of Membership

5.1 Islamic Marriage Only
5.1.1 Membership is strictly for seeking halal marriage (Nikah).
5.1.2 Mut’ah or relationships outside of Shariah are not permitted.
5.1.3 Polygynous marriages are only permitted with mutual agreement and justice to all spouses.
5.1.4 Misuse for casual dating, flirting, or immoral conduct will result in permanent suspension.
📖 Allah ﷻ says:“And among His Signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed, there are signs for people who reflect.”(Surah Ar-Rum 30:21)

6. Respect for Wali Roles

6.1 Wali Conduct
6.1.1 Members must always show respect when communicating with a Wali.
6.1.2 Verified Wali accounts may manage multiple family members.
6.1.3 Misuse of Wali privileges will result in account removal.
📖 The Prophet ﷺ said:“There is no marriage except with a Wali.”(Abu Dawood, 2085)

7. Member Conduct & Prohibited Activities

Pure Matrimony® is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and faith-centred community. All members must follow Islamic etiquette and the guidelines below to ensure a halal and trustworthy environment for everyone.
7.1 Expected Conduct
Members are expected to:
  • Uphold modesty, honesty, and good manners in all communication.
  • Speak respectfully and avoid flirtatious, inappropriate, or suggestive language.
  • Maintain sincere intentions and communicate only for halal marriage purposes.
  • Interact with dignity and patience, avoiding unnecessary free-mixing — even online.
📖 The Prophet ﷺ said:“Modesty is part of faith.”(Bukhari & Muslim)
📖 Allah ﷻ says:“Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do.”(Surah An-Nur 24:30)
7.2 Prohibited Activities
Pure Matrimony® has a zero-tolerance policy towards behaviour that violates Islamic values or community safety.
The following actions will result in immediate suspension or permanent ban without refund:
A. Safety and Integrity Violations:
  • Registering or using the platform if under the age of 18.
  • Creating multiple or fake accounts.
  • Sharing another member’s personal or financial information without consent.
  • Soliciting or requesting money, gifts, or financial assistance.
  • Uploading viruses, malware, or attempting to hack or access others’ data.
B. Content and Behaviour Violations:
  • Posting or sharing un-Islamic, vulgar, offensive, or criminal content.
  • Using flirtatious, suggestive, or inappropriate language.
  • Engaging in harassment, abuse, racism, or discriminatory behaviour.
  • Sending spam, chain messages, or promoting external businesses, products, or platforms.
  • Using misleading photos, excessive filters, or images of actors/models.
C. Respect and Communication Violations:
  • Speaking disrespectfully or abusively to other members or Pure Matrimony® staff. Engaging in behaviour that causes distress, intimidation, or emotional harm.
  • Failing to uphold the principles of modesty, sincerity, and honesty in interaction.
📖 Allah ﷻ says:“Indeed, Allah does not like transgressors.”(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:190)
7.3 Consequences
  • Violations of the Code of Conduct may result in warnings, suspension, or permanent account closure.
  • Serious misconduct may be referred to legal authorities if necessary.
  • Refunds are not issued for accounts terminated due to breaches of these terms.

8. Promotion & External Content

8.1 Restrictions
8.1.1 No promotion of other apps, products, or services.
8.1.2 No advertising businesses or soliciting money.
8.1.3 No self-promotion of personal platforms.

9. Reporting Violations

9.1 Report Feature
9.1.1 Members should report suspicious or abusive behaviour immediately.
9.1.2 Staff will investigate and enforce policies.
📖 The Prophet ﷺ said:“Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or oppressed.”
They asked: “How can we help the oppressor?”
He replied: “By stopping him from oppressing others.”(Bukhari, 2444)

10. Video & Media Content

10.1 Guidelines
10.1.1 All video/photo content must be authentic, respectful, and modest.
10.1.2 Videos must feature only the member, with visible face and modest dress.
10.1.3 Inappropriate or misleading content will be removed.

11. Subscriptions & Refunds

11.1 Renewals
11.1.1 Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled.
11.1.2 Payments due to member inaction are non-refundable.
11.2 Refunds
11.2.1 Only billing errors by Pure Matrimony® qualify for refunds.
11.2.2 Apple/Google transactions must be refunded via their platforms.

12. Respect for Diversity & Rights

12.1 Equality & Consent
12.1.1 Respectful interaction is mandatory for all members.
12.1.2 Women’s rights in marriage must always be honoured.
12.1.3 Polygynous marriages require mutual consent and fairness.

13. Monitoring & Enforcement

13.1 Oversight
13.1.1 Pure Matrimony® reserves the right to monitor for compliance.
13.1.2 Violations may lead to warnings, suspension, or bans.
13.1.3 Severe misconduct may be reported to legal authorities.

14. Commitment to Safety

14.1 Secure Communication
14.1.1 Always communicate securely and respectfully.
14.1.2 Do not share sensitive information with unverified users.
14.1.3 Follow all guidelines to ensure a safe, Shariah-compliant environment.
